Product Development Manager HQ Personnel

An exciting opportunity has arisen for someone to join our client in Northallerton as a Product Development Manager. The purpose of this job role is to take a lead on the development of new and existing products, introducing new product concepts through the development process, ensuring that technical and quality standards are achieved.

Main Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop new concepts not only in response to customer briefs but to also work with Production, Technical, Quality and Marketing
  • Manage focused development of products to deliver the required margin for customers and the business
  • Understand customer and company budgets when designing new products to ensure efficiency and profitability
  • Provide samples with supporting paperwork including preliminary specification details
  • Contribute to the business new product development strategy, deliver and implement improvements to the NPD process
  • Monitor and benchmark product quality for both new and existing products
  • Effectively manage end to end product and packaging development
  • Develop relationships with factory operations, technical, manufacturing teams and supply chain
  • Write detailed product briefs for new product launches

Person Specification:

  • Educated to degree level
  • Proven experience of developing products from concept through to launch
  • Excellent communicator in both verbal and written
  • Computer literate
  • Be able to work in a team environment and travel as necessary
  • Passionate, friendly and professional

In return for this our client is looking to offer a salary of £30,000-£35,000 depending on experience.
